The Transportation Marketing & Communications Association (TMCA) has announced its call for entries for the 2007 Compass Awards. This program, in its 55th year of competition, recognizes North American transportation and logistics
companies that have developed creative, strategic marketing or communications programs.
TMCA president Tom Nightingale of Con-way Inc., said, "This program continues to encourage marketing professionals to raise the bar in their discipline and to reinforce the need for marketing to show clear, measurable ROI in all initiatives."
The TMCA Compass Awards competition offers 10 submission categories: integrated communications, single advertisement, advertising campaign, direct marketing campaign, communications collateral, publications, new media, audiovisual, special events and media relations.
TMCA will be accepting submissions through March 2, 2007. Entries will initially be judged by peers, creative agencies, consultants, educators and industry media across the U.S. and Canada. The final phase will be reviewed by an independent panel of distinguished judges. Three types of awards are presented including merit, excellence, and the highest scored entry overall, "best of show."
"Through this program, organizations have the opportunity to showcase their best marketing and communications work, receive recognition from peers, and benchmark work against others in the industry," said Brian Everett, TMCA's CEO.
All award recipients will be honored at a gala June 5, 2007, during TMCA's annual conference at the Renaissance Vinoy Resort and Golf Club in St. Petersburg, Fla.
For a resource guide of former award-winning entries with work sample images and strategy write-ups, Best Practices in Transportation Collection 3 may be purchased through TMCA Member Services at 952/442-5638, ext. 208.
