The Tire Industry Association has released the 2010 dates for the Automotive Tire Service and Commercial Tire Service Certified Instructor programs.
The CTS program uses classroom instruction with hands-on learning and meets the requirements laid out by OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910.177. Students who successfully complete the CTS Instructor program are qualified to certify technicians in the field, TIA says.
The ATS program combines classroom instruction with comprehensive, hands-on education. Students who successfully complete the program are prepared to return to their companies and impart that knowledge to their fellow employees by conducting in-house Certified ATS Technician or Instructor classes.
"TIA's CTS and ATS Instructor Programs have trained thousands of technicians all over the world, and continue to be the 'gold standard' for tire technician training," said Roy Littlefield, TIA's executive vice president. "TIA training goes a long way towards ensuring that tire service facilities employ competent, knowledgeable tire repair technicians, which can give them a significant advantage over the competition."
