The Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA) has announced a new online course, Marketing Transportation Brokerage Services, which will begin on Oct. 9, 2006. This course, based on a book by the same name
authored by Dr. John Drea and Dr. Joe Hanna, is paced to be completed in 16 weeks (with a 10-week extension available at no charge).
Marketing Transportation Brokerage Services is a comprehensive course that contains learning objectives, a textbook, online study guides and online objective quizzes. It will cover a wide range of topics of crucial importance to transportation brokerage services including:
• Marketing Fundamentals for Transportation Brokerage
• Creating Customer Satisfaction
• Marketing Strategy Fundamentals for Brokerage
• Marketing Research and Marketing Intelligence
• Targeting Supply Chain Buyers
• Understanding the Buyers of Brokerage Services
• Pricing and Transaction Costs
• A Strategic Approach to Promotion
• Promoting Brokerage Services
Dr. John Drea said “as competition increases for loads and carrier capacity, it’s important to approach marketing as a strategic activity that can contribute immediately to the bottom line. We’ve tried to focus on concepts that are critical to marketing brokerage services, without getting bogged down in terminology and concepts that aren’t relevant to brokerage.”
Robert Voltmann, TIA president and CEO, said, “Marketing Transportation Brokerage Services is designed to help TIA members market their services to grow the success of their business. This is one more way that TIA is working to meet the ever expanding and changing needs of our members.”
The cost for Marketing Transportation Brokerage Services is $350 for members and $475 for non-members. There is an additional charge for textbooks. To register, contact Tia Johnson at Johnson@tianet.org.
