Thermo King has announced that its TriPacE electric auxiliary idle reduction and temperature management system has been verified by the Environmental Protection Agency's SmartWay program as an anti-idling technology.
The company's engine-based auxiliary power unit, TriPac, has also been verified.
"Thermo King continues to drive innovation for our customers and the APU marketplace by providing 'Choice,'" says Dwayne Cowan, APU manager for Thermo King.
The TriPacE is the first electric APU from Thermo King and provides a clean, sustainable choice for those customers looking for APU options. The system is designed to maintain comfortable temperature conditions in the truck cab without running an engine. It is a battery-powered solution that uses sophisticated power management technology to optimize energy used.
