Terion Launches FleetView 3R Trailer Management System For Reefer Fleets
Terion Inc., Plano, Texas, has launched FleetView 3R with Reefer Monitoring. At the same time, the trailer tracking provider announced it has signed its first reefer monitoring custome

, Raider Express of Fort Worth, Texas.
According to the Terion announcement, this enhancement is the tenth for the FleetView trailer tracking product line over the past year. FleetView is widely deployed by a number of truckload carriers, most notably perhaps, J.B. Hunt.
Terion said that FleetView 3R with Reefer Monitoring extends the operational benefits of refrigerated trailer tracking by providing critical reefer unit operating information to dispatchers and managers, wherever they may be.
Terion calls FleetView 3R with Reefer Monitoring “The Smarter Trailer Management Solution.”
Among its benefits, Terion listed:
* Reefer temperature is provided for up to three compartments with every event, such as logged positions, beginning/end of drive, hooked/unhooked, etc.
* Critical reefer shutdown alarms can be reported instantly by e-mail and/or text message to managers or dispatchers, whether or not the trailer is hooked to a tractor.
* Reefer temperature is continuously monitored, comparing it to a user-defined temperature range. Temperature out of range alerts can be reported immediately.
* Reefer battery voltage and gas levels can also be monitored with alerts sent to the user, based on user-defined thresholds.
* Temperature logs can be stored in FleetView 3R for up to three months, allowing Terion's customers to retrieve proof of temperature history through the Terion web site.
According to Terion, Raider Express was a beta test customer for the product.
