Terion Inc. and DriverTech Inc. will integrate Terion’s FleetView 3 trailer tracking system and DriverTech’s DT4000 system.
The two products will share data between the in-cab and trailer systems while the trailer is connected to the tractor – information that has traditionally been gathered and analyzed separately. By delivering both types of data in one format, Terion and DriverTech will provide least-cost routing capabilities and create synergies in event detection and reporting.
“With over 100,000 units installed, we see the integration of trailer information and in-cab data the logical next advancement. This collaboration gives the transportation industry the most comprehensive solution available,” said Terion President and CEO Ken Cranston.
“DriverTech’s Truck PC Fleet Management system takes advantage of low-cost IP networks like cellular and Wi-Fi, and leverages powerful software solutions to deliver significant operational benefits such as improved customer service,” said Mark Haslam, DriverTech’s president and CEO. “By connecting our progressive in-cab system with Terion’s trailer management system, we can dramatically increase productivity for our customers.”
FleetView 3 is a trailer fleet management system that communicates real-time trailer location and event status when the trailer is tethered or untethered, and provides an accurate record of loaded or unloaded status by way of a patented Cargo Sensor. Benefits include an increase in trailer utilization and a reduced trailer-to-tractor ratio.
