Teletrac Unveils Wireless Messaging Feature for FleetDirector
Teletrac Inc., Garden Grove, Calif., which provides metro fleet location information systems, is offering a new wireless messaging and alert feature as part of its FleetDirector product
Teletrac Inc., Garden Grove, Calif., which provides metro fleet location information systems, is offering a new wireless messaging and alert feature as part of its FleetDirector product.
The new feature lets fleet owners and managers receive real-time wireless notifications about each driver's status on their mobile devices.
Fleet managers are able to receive immediate notice of problems with the fleet so they can advise while on the go, continuing to generate revenue. They save time by not having to obtain and read printed reports in order to learn vehicle status.
The new feature works in conjunction with Teletrac's FleetDirector eClient product, which tracks fleet location information using digital maps transmitted over the Internet on PCs.
Customers can customize the messaging feature to send exception alerts and driver messages to any cellular phone number or e-mail address that is designated in the system. Business managers receive notice right on their mobile phone or wireless e-mail device while the problem is occurring, allowing them to address field issues before they turn into significant lost time and increased costs.
FleetDirector eClient can now alert fleet managers that a vehicle is being stolen or used for unauthorized personal use after hours. Broken down vehicle messages along with the truck number and exact location can be simultaneously forwarded directly to the fleet manager, maintenance manager and even an outside roadside service contractor.
