June marked the 150th edition and the third anniversary of "Tech Talk with TMC," produced jointly by the American Trucking Associations' Technology & Maintenance Council and trucking radio personality Dave Nemo.
"Tech Talk with TMC" has been a weekly segment on XM Satellite Radio's "The Dave Nemo Show" since June 2005.
Each Tuesday, TMC representatives appear on "The Dave Nemo Show," covering a range of technical issues of interest to the trucking industry. Guest speakers take live calls from XM's "Open Road" Channel 171 audience. The 150th segment episode was broadcast on June 24.
TMC Technical Director Robert Braswell appears on the program each week, along with a veteran TMC member covering issues involving maintenance, inspection and specification of brakes, on-board vehicle electronics and electrical systems, engines, seating, tires and wheels, trailers, transmissions, chassis and suspensions.
"We're thrilled to be able to present vital information from these experts to our trucking audience," Nemo said. "Response to TMC's presence on the show in the past has been overwhelmingly positive and it's great to have the members on the air on a weekly basis covering everything from the shiny side to the rubber side and everything in between. I'm also very glad to see listeners take advantage of [TMC's] special owner0operator membership category. With input from these seasoned professionals and TMC's vast pool of knowledge, it's a real winning combination."
"We think it's a great opportunity to reach a segment of the industry that may not previously have been exposed to TMC and to hear from the folks who literally 'wrote the book' on heavy vehicle equipment and systems maintenance and application," said Braswell.
