The Truckload Carriers Association is asking its members to donate items for this year’s silent and live auctions to take place during the TCA’s annual convention March 11-14 in Las Vegas.
The scholarship fund began awarding scholarships
in 1986, and since that time, the awards have grown from three to 18 and the award amounts from $500 to $3,000, thanks to the support of members.
In response to last year’s feedback, the silent auction will again be held in the Exhibit Hall at the Bellagio Resort in Las Vegas. The auction item sign-up sheets and item photos will be located in the Exhibit Hall. The auction items will be located at each participating exhibitor’s booth.
The auction is open to both carriers and those associate members who are participating in the exhibition. Those interested in donating an item for the live auction should call Nancy O’Liddy at (703) 838-1950. To see sample items donated last year, go to www.truckload.org and click on the scholarship button.
Don Orr, TCA scholarship chairman and president of MEI, Central Refrigerated Services, said TCA is currently at the three-quarter mark on the path of a $1 million fund balance goal.
