"Fighting Back Against Cargo Crime and Winning!" is the title of a Truckload Carriers Assn. (TCA) audio conference, scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. EST on Feb. 5.

TCA, through its Truckload Academy, conducts a series of monthly audio conferences on a variety of subjects directed not only to CEOs, but also to other employees within the trucking industry.
Organized crime groups are targeting the truckload industry. You want to protect your fleet drivers, your trucks and your loads. The challenge is to build security into your operations, within your budget and time constraints. The goal of this audio conference is to provide you with the tools that will allow you to fight back against cargo crime and win.
TCA’s expert speakers will answer the following questions:
-- What types of cargo thieves are threatening the truckload industry?
-- What are the common conditions that lead to a threat?
-- What are the methods used by cargo thieves?
-- What information is needed to report a cargo theft? Who do you talk to?
-- How can your insurance company help you?
-- How do you begin to protect your drivers, your trucks and your loads?
Speakers at the audio conference include:
-- Gail Toth, executive director, New Jersey Motor Truck Assn., East Brunswick, N.J.
--Jeff Davis, vice president of safety, Motor Transport Underwriters Inc., Indianapolis, Ind.
-- Randy Cornell, vice president of safety, Contract Freighters Inc., Joplin, Mo.
-- Lt. William Shiver Jr., Florida Highway Patrol/Cargo Theft Team, Lakeland, Fla.
Audio conferences are an inexpensive, convenient way for individuals to receive information over the telephone. If a speakerphone is used, the company can train as many individuals as desired - all for the same price.
Cassettes of the audio conference proceedings can be purchased for reference or future additional training.
Simply dial in on a speakerphone and have as many employees as you want listen. Individuals also have the ability to ask questions during the audio conference, making the experience interactive as well.
For pricing and other details, e-mail TLA@truckload.org or contact Virginia DeRoze at (703) 838-1950.
