TCA Hosts Audio Conference On the Economy Feb. 6

The Transportation Carriers Assn. (TCA) is hosting an Eye on the Economy audio conference from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Feb. 6 entitled "Is Your Company Ready to Handle the Capacity."

In this audio conference, listeners will be able to get up-to-the-minute information from experts concerning the anticipated growth of the economy and what it will mean to their companies in the upcoming months.
Bob Costello, the American Trucking Assns.' chief economist and vice president, and Donald Broughton, senior analyst for transportation equities for A.G. Edwards & Sons, will provide information to listeners in a format moderated by Doug Condra, president and publisher of Heavy Duty Trucking magazine.
The audio conference will cover the following material and more:
-- The general economic trends, including gross domestic product, employment, consumer confidence, retail sales, interest rates and inflation
-- The specific manufacturing trends, regarding autos, capital goods, durables and non-durables
-- The anticipated outlook for the economy and trucking
-- The motor carrier industry trends, including freight volumes by TL carrier type, small, large, average length of haul, freight segments. Also, carrier cost trends, such as fuel, driver wages and insurance; as well as carrier bankruptcies, driver turnover and equipment trends. In addition, regulatory developments that may impact carrier operations or bottom lines will be discussed.
Attendees will include CEOs, CFOs, controllers, operations, sales and anyone making decisions impacting trucking profitability.
The price for live site hook-up and materials is $129 per site for TCA members and $159 per site for non-TCA members. For an audiotape and materials only, the cost is $59 for audio conference participants, $129 for non-participants who are TCA members and $159 for non-participants who are not TCA members
Participants only need a phone to access the call. Place the call on a speakerphone and you can have as many individuals as possible listen and participate -- all for the same price. Individuals also have the ability to ask questions during the audio conference, making the experience interactive as well.
