The 66th annual convention of the Truckload Carrier Assn. takes place in Hawaii this year, running from March 14-17 at the Hilton Waikoloa Resort Hotel on the Big Island of Hawaii.
The theme of this year's convention is "Improving Your Bottom Line" and many of the roundtables, speakers and workshops will provide valuable ideas for creating a more profitable business.
TCA Chairman Clifton Parker said, "As the economy bounces back, TCA's 2004 convention is the ideal time to assess and get strategic ideas as to where the industry is going financially and where you want to be.
"We will focus on how trucking companies can improve and maintain their bottom line. TCA's expert speakers, opportunities for networking, and one-of-a-kind programs make the annual convention an event that industry executives really can't afford to miss."
Author and market trends expert Jim Harris will speak about customer relationship management, teamwork and industry positioning. Harris is the author of "Blindsided!" which highlights why companies and even whole industries are being blindsided by changing trends and new advances. It explains how to put systems in place to keep your organization from being blindsided.
Other invited speakers include Michael Leavitt, administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, and Annette Sandberg, administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
Another highlight of this year’s convention will be TCA's popular CEO panel. This year's program will feature three industry leaders speaking on "The Balance Sheet of Trucking -- Will Paradise Prevail?" They will provide insights on what direction trucking will take and answer questions.
