The Truckload Carriers Assn. (TCA) has announced the release of the Train the Trainer product developed by Delmar Learning and the Professional Truck Driver Institute (PTDI).

Train the Trainer is devised to help both trucking schools and companies with the challenge of standardizing driver training. The program consists of a video series, student course book and instructor's manual. All three products can be purchased separately or as a package. Train the Trainer is ideal for educating "finishing" trainers at companies or instructors at driving schools.
The Train the Trainer Instructor's Guide is a resource to help prepare instructors to teach trainers, providing more than 40 hours of instructional materials that address skills needed by effective trainers. The guide allows an instructor to easily select from among the suggested exercises and materials to design at least 16 hours of course work for trainers.
The two, 30-minute Train the Trainer videos provide trainers with practical demonstrations of effective teaching techniques and motivational tips for successful classroom instruction. The videos reinforce the concepts presented in the student course book, which is an interactive, user -friendly reference tool. The student course book covers curriculum development, classroom management, learning methods, learner diversity, and presentation techniques for truck driver trainers.
