TCA is now accepting applications for its prestigious Company Equipment Driver of the Year and Independent Contractor of the Year contests for 2006.
This is an opportunity for carriers to show their drivers that they are valued and that their safety record counts by giving them the opportunity to participate in a contest that honors only the drivers who have achieved excellence in their trucking careers.
The contests are open to over the road truckload carrier drivers who have driven at least one million consecutive accident-free miles and are employed by a TCA-member company. The contest has become even more competitive with TCA narrowing the total list of winners to only five in each contest.
Application forms must be submitted by Oct. 23, 2006. TCA manages two contests to honor the best drivers in the United States and Canada. The Independent Contractor of the Year Contest rewards owner-operators based on their ability to run a successful business, operate in a safe manner over the public highways, and enhance the public image of the trucking industry.
The Company Equipment Driver of the Year Contest honors individual company drivers who exemplify the best in the industry. Company-employed drivers are selected based on their safety records, work history and past awards and recognition.
The winners of each contest will be announced during TCA's Convention on March 11-14, 2007, at the Bellagio Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada.
For more information call Tom Burns, at (703) 838-1950 or by e-mail at tburns@truckload.org.
