That means the software and data is stored on a Synergistic Systems server and customers work from computers in their own offices over the Internet. They need not install or maintain software, and they pay on an as-used basis. According to Synergistic Systems, the ASP versions of Synergy Dispatch will allow a carrier with less than 150 power units to use the application without an initial capital outlay.
According to the company, the ASP edition will feature all of the current capabilities of Synergy Dispatch, including call taking, inbound/outbound planning, computerized mapping and route optimization. Mobile data terminals can be included in the monthly fee. The carrier needs to have a fast Internet connection (DSL, cable or T1) at their location. Pricing is based on the number of power units and mobile data options selected.
Synergy Dispatch is designed for pickup & delivery operations. The company claims that with computerized mapping, static or dynamic routing and mobile data terminals, Synergy Dispatch can save from 7% to 25% of total P&D costs.
