Today marks the beginning of the Driver Appreciation Day celebration at Jubitz Truck Stop, located off I-5 at Exit 305 in Portland, Ore., which will feature the third qualifying event in the Stars and Stripes show truck series.

A highlight of the three-day extravaganza will be the Stars and Stripes Northwest Qualifier Event for the National Association of Show Trucks, sponsored by Newport Communications, which will begin tomorrow and continue through Sunday. The top three bobtail and top three combination winners will get the chance to compete at the national championship next March, where they'll compete for $30,000 top prize and the Truck-Lite trophy. In addition, truckers can compete in a regular NAST show and take home cash prizes for various classes and Best of Show competition.
More than 100 fleets have been invited to participate in the Jubitz celebration. Visitors can enjoy games, food, prizes and various forms of entertainment, as well as vendor booths. The event takes place at the newly renovated facility.
