The Sixth Annual Richard Crane Memorial Truck Show in St. Ignace, Mich., will be held this weekend, Sept. 14-16, as planned.

The Parade of Lights across the Mackinac Straits Bridge on Saturday evening, Sept. 15, had been dedicated to the memory of Ruth Jones, senior editor at the Owner Operator Independent Drivers Association's LandLine magazine and an avid National Assn. of Show Trucks member. In the wake of this week's tragic events, show organizers have also dedicated it to the victims of this week's terror attacks and their families.
Ruth Jones and her husband, Dee, were frequent winners in truck beauty shows with their "Lost in the '50s" Freightliner owned by All Freight Systems of Kansas City, Kan.
Dee will lead Saturday night's parade. During the show, two of his daughters, Misti and Sandra, are with him. They were busy handing out red-white-and-blue ribbons in exchange for donations to the Red Cross relief efforts.
On Friday morning, at least 75 trucks were ready to roll into downtown St. Ignace, with more expected, said Chuck Kemner, vice president of NAST. American flags flew from every truck and around the town, snapping in the breeze under perfect late summer skies.
