The Southeast Truck Show, which was scheduled for Sept. 27-29 at the Louisiana State Fairgrounds in Shreveport, has been cancelled. Dale Sommers, "The Truckin' Bozo," for whom the event was named,
announced the cancellation on his XM Radio Channel.
The radio personality said his doctors have advised him against travel due to current health issues. The event may be re-scheduled at a later date.
The Special Olympics Convoy scheduled for Shreveport on that same weekend will still be held. Participants will assemble at the Louisiana State Fairgrounds on Friday, Sept. 28, and the convoy will be held on Sept. 29 through Shreveport and will be named in honor of "The Truckin' Bozo." Comedian Willie P. Richardson, who had been scheduled to perform at the truck show, will entertain the participants on Friday evening from 7 to 8p.m.
