It expands the area along I-15 where 80 mph is permitted to between Brigham City, north of Salt Lake City, and the Idaho border. Currently it’s limited to Nephi and Cedar City, south of Salt Lake City.
It also allows for the higher limit along I-80 between Grantsville, located west of Salt Lake City, and the Nevada line and along I-84 between Tremonton, at the I-15/84 split, to the Idaho border.
First it requires the Utah Department of Transportation to conduct studies before any changes can be made with the hikes happening no sooner than around mid-May.
