SkyBitz, a leading provider of Global Locating System (GLS) trailer tracking technology for the trucking industry, has announced the addition of six customers that are deploying its tracking solutions.
More than 290 fleets now rely on SkyBitz GLS technology to track in excess of 100,000 trailers.
The latest customers have each selected the SkyBitz GLS 200 with Smart Sensor Tracking, a technology that automatically filters out the trailer’s non-essential starts and stops and only reports actionable information determined by the customer such as load arrival and departure times.
“Asset tracking is our only business,” said Roni Taylor, executive vice president of SkyBitz. “More than 290 fleets now rely on our untethered tracking technology to optimize trailer utilization, increase revenue per mile and maximize security.”
The following companies recently chose SkyBitz:
• Capacity Solutions, a leader in the leasing and financing of commercial trucks and trailers for carriers and owner operators, offers creative solutions for today's transportation needs. Headquartered in Murfreesboro, Tenn., Capacity Solutions is installing the GLS 200 tracking unit on 400 trailers.
• Go-To Transport, Bay City, Mich., is a truckload carrier specializing in the seamless movement of freight throughout the 48 contiguous states and Canada. Go-To supports a number of industries, from automotive and chemical to print and consumer goods. The carrier is installing the SkyBitz GLS 200 in 350 trailers as part of the company’s commitment to ensure the safe and reliable transportation of their customers' goods.
• KK Integrated Logistics, headquartered in Menominee, Mich., provides fully integrated global logistics services, including warehousing, distribution and transportation services. The installation of SkyBitz trailer tracking units on 300-plus trailers is part of the company’s approach to solving customers’ logistics challenges to minimize capital expenditures, lower storage and distribution costs and improve the bottom line.
• Morgan Southern, established in 1982, is one of the largest national trucking companies serving the Intermodal industry. With 16 locations across the U.S., the company offers Intermodal drayage, over-the-road transportation, volume LTL service, container depot, trailer parking and storage and logistics services. Morgan Southern, based in Conley, Ga., is installing the GLS 200 on more than 120 of its trailers.
• Plumline Freight Services Inc. is a general commodities truckload carrier that began operations in January 2006. Headquartered in Camden, S.C., the company operates primarily in the Southeast U.S. The decision to install the GLS 200 units on 100 trailers was driven by President Dan Bausum’s belief that the cost of a trailer tracking system will be more than offset by the expense incurred for one lost or stolen trailer.
• Transborder Logistics Inc., a bi-national transportation logistics headquartered in McAllen, Texas, specializes in door-to-door service within the U.S. and Mexico and transfer, short- and long-haul service to customers with minimal material handling. Transborder Logistics is installing the SkyBitz tracking solution for its 80-trailer fleet.
