Skinner Diesel Services of Columbus, Ohio is celebrating 30 years in business. The company began as a general truck repair facility in 1982. Thirty years later, it has expanded and adapted with additional business segments.
Skinner Diesel operates two locations, with more than 40,000 square feet of shop facility, more than $1 million in parts inventory and more than 40 heavy-duty professional technicians. The parts side of the business has seen tremendous growth and now offers online ordering and invoice retrieval.
Skinner Diesel is also a full service repair facility, with specialties that include radiators, driveline, alignments and brake relining. The trailer shop provides services ranging from standard PMs to heavy welding and fabrication.
"We offer the extended hours of service because that's what our customers need and expect, so they can get their vehicle back in service. We've been a family-owned business for 30 years and looking forward to our future growth," says Mike Skinner, founder and owner of Skinner Diesel Services.
Skinner Diesel owns 4 additional businesses that complement the core truck and trailer parts and service operation:
- Commercial Radiator Shop, radiator and heat exchange repair for everything from motorcycles to earth moving equipment
- Columbus Auto Electric, which rebuilds any type of rotating electrical from jet skis to
locomotives
- Columbus Joint and Clutch, which specializes in clutch and driveshaft repairs for medium- to heavy-duty vehicles
- Yard Truck Rentals, with late-model Ottawa yard trucks available for delivery
Skinner Diesel has been a member of HDA Truck Pride since 2000.
