Sirius Satellite Radio will host a special concert to kick-off the inaugural Sirius Satellite Radio 400 at the Michigan International Speedway Saturday, June 15.

The Blues Brothers starring Dan Aykroyd and Jim Belushi; Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels; and Soluna are scheduled to perform at the Sirius concert. The Sirius service, currently available in 37 states, is expected to be available nationwide July 1.
As a part of the weekend's events, DreamWorks Records recording stars, Soluna, will also perform the U.S. National Anthem prior to the start of the Sirius Satellite Radio 400 on June 16. The female foursome recently released its debut album, For All Time, which includes the hit single, "For All Time."
"Not only will Sirius provide listeners with great music the way it was meant to be heard - without any commercials -- but we're also sharing our love for music by hosting a concert for the thousands of NASCAR fans that will attend the Sirius Satellite Radio 400," said Joseph P. Clayton, President and CEO of Sirius Satellite Radio.
Once a skit on the hit NBC television comedy series Saturday Night Live, The Blues Brothers are accredited to successfully introducing a number of soul and blues classics to a new generation of listeners. While opening up for Steve Martin in 1978, The Blues Brothers recorded Briefcase Full of Blues. The album went platinum and launched the Top 40 hit covers, "Soul Man" and "Rubber Biscuit." Aykroyd can also be heard on the "Sirius Blues" channel #90 in a daily feature spotlighting interviews with the biggest names in blues, such as BB King, Robert Cray and John Mayall. Belushi is currently staring in the ABC sitcom "According to Jim."
With their turbo charged, high-energy sound and powerful live performances, Mitch Ryder and The Detroit Wheels have experienced much mainstream success over the past 40 years with many hit singles including "Sock It to Me Baby," "Jenny Take A Ride," "Little Latin Lupe Lou," "Devil With A Blue Dress On" and "Good Golly Miss Molly."
The concert will be held on the Michigan International Speedway property at the corner of Brooklyn Road and U.S. 12, on Saturday, June 15, following the ARCA race at approximately 5 p.m. All fans with a ticket to Saturday's on-track events will be admitted to the concert, as well as fans with weekend infield access wristbands. Fans are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy the concert. Parking is available throughout the Michigan International Speedway grounds.
In addition to the concert, the race track will also host the Sirius "Rhythm of the Road" mobile tour and various Sirius information booths that will allow fans to experience the Sirius service live. Sirius will also have mobile installation teams touring the Speedway throughout the weekend to sell and install Sirius systems for race fans.
