Shell Rotella Names SuperRigs Contest Winners
Tom and Kim Turner of Cynthiana, Ky., captured top honors – Best of Show – with their 1995 Peterbilt 379 tractor and a matching 2003 Transcraft step deck trailer at the recent 2005 Shell Rotella SuperRigs Contest in Wildwood, Fla

“With so many gorgeous trucks here, I never thought we would win,” said Kim Turner. “My knees are weak. Shell is awesome. Everyone wants to win (Rotella) SuperRigs.”
This was the second Shell Rotella SuperRigs event for the Turners, who took home a third-place trophy in the Tractor-Trailer category last year in Grand Island, Neb.
The 23rd annual competition took place at the 75 Chrome Shop in Wildwood, Fla., and included more than 65 working class vehicles from 24 states. Overall, the Shell Rotella SuperRigs event presented 24 awards to 19 vehicle owners, covering the Classic, Tractor and Tractor-Trailer categories, as well as Best Lights, Best Interior, Best Engine, Best Mural, Best Theme and the People’s Choice Award.
Contestants vied for more than $10,000 in cash and prizes, plus an opportunity to appear in the 2006 Shell Rotella SuperRigs calendar. Judges scored trucks on exterior appearance, design, detail and workmanship. Only working trucks operating in inter- or intrastate commerce were eligible to compete. State DOT authority or ICC numbers on the truck were required for proof of entry.
The contest was free and everyone entering received a gift package consisting of one gallon of Shell Rotella T SAE 15W-40 Multigrade Motor Oil, one gallon of Shell Rotella ELC Extended Life Coolant/Antifreeze, a tube of Shell RETINAX LC grease, a bottle of Shell SPIRAX EW Gear Oil, a Shell Rotella SuperRigs hat and t-shirt, and more.
