SEKO, a global provider of supply chain solutions, recently moved its operations into a larger facility in Louisville, Ky. The new and larger office is a full-service operation capable of handling all types of transportation services
including domestic and international shipping, customs brokerage, warehouse management and time-definite ground transportation. The office operates 24/7 and is located approximately four miles from the Louisville International Airport.
The SEKO Louisville office move was prompted by increased customer demands and the need for additional warehouse space. One of SEKO's original offices, it first opened in 1985 and has continued to expand its customer base and service offerings over the years. Management has about 60 years of combined experience, in addition to a staff of 29 employees. The office serves the greater Louisville area, Southeastern Indiana and, additionally, serves Eastern and Western Kentucky.
The new SEKO Louisville facility offers a warehouse storage capacity of 24,000 sq. feet and has overall access to a total of 50,000 square feet of warehouse space. The facility provides comprehensive warehouse and distribution services, utilizing the SEKO Warehouse Management System (WMS) to provide online access to inventory status, shipment release notification and various reporting functions.
Security is maintained with video surveillance, monitored 24/7 and is access-controlled by requiring the use of key cards. Unauthorized personnel must remain in secured areas unless access is granted to the building by a qualified SEKO employee. To further meet customer needs, SEKO also operates 12 units of delivery equipment, from small cargo vans to 52-foot trailers. These vehicles are used for metro area pick-ups and deliveries, providing enhanced customer distribution services by enabling greater flexibility in moving freight locally and around the globe.
