Erin Van Zeeland, vice president of business transformation for Schneider National, was selected as one of IDG's Computerworld's Premier 100 IT Leaders for 2009.

Van Zeeland was selected as a Premier 100 IT Leader from nearly 1,000 nominees who were measured against Computerworld's IT Leadership Index and evaluated by the editors and by an external panel of judges. The Index weighs a set of characteristics that describes executives who guide the effective use of IT in their organizations.

"We are extremely proud to have a leader like Erin who is working to develop an enterprise-wide, high-performance environment," said Judy Lemke, executive vice president and CIO for Schneider National. "IT is critical to how we manage our business today and, perhaps more importantly, tomorrow. We are in year two of a major business transformation that will change every process and system used by our 22,000 associates worldwide. It is certainly a challenging task, and Erin has been instrumental in ensuring efficient processes, reliable and accessible data, and organizational readiness."

Lemke continued, "In a competitive environment like global transportation and logistics, we need to be as agile as possible to retain our leadership position. This transformative IT project will provide all Schneider associates with the knowledge they need to make the best decisions for our customers, our associates, and our business."
