PDA or laptop. According to recent data, smartphone sales have already increased by 75.5 percent in the last year to 37.4 million units, and will grow by a further 66 percent during 2006.
CoPilot Live | Smartphone utilizes the robust operating system and processing power of the latest smartphones as well as the large storage capacity of inexpensive flash memory to deliver turn-by-turn voice guidance and expeditious route recalculation. Designed with the driver in mind, the 3D map display guides the driver and will detour around unexpected traffic congestion, so the driver will never miss a turn or a call.
"With the explosive growth of the smartphone market now rolling over into the broad-based consumer market, ALK is well positioned to benefit from our investment in CoPilot Live GPS Navigation, Fleet Management and Location Based Service offerings worldwide,” says Dan Titus, ALK's senior vice president of Mobility Solutions. "ALK has led the way by being first to market with Windows Mobile smartphone GPS navigation solutions for the Palm Treo 700 series, the Motorola Q, and E62 from Cingular Wireless. We remain focused, bringing reliable and easy to use corporate enterprise solutions to market and expect to play an increasing role within the consumer market as our customer base continues to expand at a rapid rate,” said Titus.
ALK’s CoPilot Live transforms a smartphone into an advanced GPS navigation system. Benefits include: one device for all navigation and communication needs, fits street maps of the entire United States on a phone, no subscription service or cell phone reception required, Windows Mobile 5 compatible, and Live Communications enabled.
