Satellite Security Systems, San Diego, Calif., has launched IONIT, a satellite security and monitoring solution for tethered and un-tethered units.
IONIT is a covert system placed on individual units and tracked via satellite communication and GPS. IONIT is solar powered with a reserve battery and works with FleetGuard, a desktop application that allows managers to view, monitor and track each vehicle in an entire fleet at once.
IONIT's communications backbone is the Motorola ReFLEX satellite communications system. The ReFLEX system is a secure, two-way messaging infrastructure that stretches across North America (U.S., Canada, and Mexico) and is also available throughout Europe and Asia. Compared with competing data networks, ReFLEX's capabilities provide a wide range of crucial technical and economic advantages.
A 24-hour, seven-day-a-week monitoring and support center is staffed to respond immediately to emergency situations.
