Ryder System Inc., a global leader in transportation and supply chain management solutions, and the University of Miami have announced seminar dates for the University of Miami Anthony Burns Center for Advanced Supply Chain Management.
The seminar will be held April 28-29 at the Conference Center of the Americas in the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, Fla.
This seminar series, called "Supply Chain Management -- Today and Tomorrow: Maximizing Profits and Customer Satisfaction," is designed for executives within all industries who seek profit-contributing supply chains.
The Center was created in further collaboration with IBM as a unique fusion of academicians, industry experts and consultants to conduct research and provide executive education programs in supply chain management -- the process of managing the efficient flows of goods, information, funds and work among trading partners worldwide. The center was named in honor of Burns, the former Ryder chairman who retired last year after 28 years with the company.
Dr. Eleftherios (Terry) Iakovou, associate professor of Industrial Engineering/Supply Chain Management, serves as the director of the center. Gene Tyndall, formerly executive vice president of Ryder's Global Supply Chain Solutions business, serves as the associate director.
For additional seminar information and registration, call (305) 284-2933, or visit www.miami.edu/CASCM.
