Infor Global Solutions Inc., a provider of enterprise software solutions, announced that Ryder Systems Inc., has selected Infor's SupplyWEB
as a supply chain execution tool to be integrated with Ryder's transportation management system to enhance capabilities with its proprietary Ryder Logistics Release system.
The Ryder Logistics Release system is an automated process that enhances transportation management capabilities in shipment planning and execution. The goal is to put shared logistics networks together for suppliers and logistics network managers to optimize shipments configurations, as well as the movement of shipments using a single set of logistics rules.
The RLR system will use Infor's SupplyWEB to present one face to automotive suppliers, combining the information from multiple versions of separate ERP systems into a single, universal view for suppliers and internal users. SupplyWEB includes traditional EDI communication and Web-based methods, with a mix of capabilities. With SupplyWEB, companies can achieve 100% electronic communications with all suppliers, even if some of them do not have EDI capability.
