Robert Hansen, president of Gail Force, an air charter company located in Janesville, WI, has been elected 2000-2001 Chairman of the Truckload Carriers Assn.

The swearing-in ceremony took place last week during the association's annual meeting in Lake Buena Vista, FL.
Hansen takes the helm of the organization just after the TCA membership voted to remain an independent organization affiliated with the American Trucking Assns. He believes strongly that both the TCA and the ATA must find a way to work together for the common good of the trucking industry, and his main goal is to "find a solution without losing a single member of either TCA or ATA."
Another priority, he says, will be the Truckload Academy.
Hansen began his trucking career as a owner-operator for North American Van Lines in 1964. In 1976, he and his wife Gail received contract carrier authority to haul paint and electrical wire. As Wisconsin's industries and consumer needs changed, Robert Hansen Trucking began to grow, adding both van and refrigerated equipment to its fleet. By 1999, the company had grown from one truck to 220.
In 1994, Mr. Hansen joined with his son-in-law, Mark Jacobson, to form an air charter freight company called Gail Force Corp.
Hansen has been involved in the TCA in many capacities, including past chairman of the Refrigerated Division, the Scholarship Trustees, and several committees. He is also a past chairman of the Wisconsin Motor Carriers Assn.
