Published reports indicate that APU maker RigMaster Power is shutting its doors.
Both Landline.com and Canada's TruckNews.com reported Tuesday that they had confirmation from RigMaster dealers of a fax from the company informing them that because of economic conditions, the company could no longer "operate its business as a going concern."
The person answering the phone Tuesday at RigMaster, when asked about whether the company was closing its doors, said she had heard rumors but could neither confirm nor deny the report. When asked for someone who could, she transferred the call to marketing and communications manager Amy Egerter, but there was no answer. A voice mail left Tuesday was not returned, and an e-mail sent to Egerter was returned with a notice that "Delivery to the following recipients failed."
Landline.com, published by the Owner Operator Independent Drivers Association, noted that, "For the past several weeks, OOIDA members who own RigMaster APUs have been complaining to the association that they've been unable to reach the company."
