Republic Diesel Inc., based in Louisville, Ky., purchased the assets and equipment of neighboring Truck Supplies Inc. of Lexington, Ky.
The company will be merged into Republic Diesel's Lexington Branch.
Sales and warehousing employees have been retained. According to Branch Manager Tony Holt, the purchase brings with it the opportunity to service a wider customer base.
Started in 1911 as Republic Welding Company, Republic Diesel today sells an exclusive line of medium and heavy-duty truck and trailer parts, diesel engine machining services and truck repair service.
Republic Diesel is a member of HDA Truck Pride and is an authorized Capacity truck dealer. It has locations in Kentucky in Louisville, Lexington and Prestonsburg, as well as in Jeffersonville, Ind., and Harrogate, Tenn.
