Rand McNally has released an application programming interface (API) that allows carriers to integrate their transportation management systems with Rand McNally's IntelliRoute Fuel, IntelliRoute Lane Rates and
IntelliRoute Streets software modules.
The three modules were introduced in May to enhance the IntelliRoute base mileage, routing and mapping software.
"Think of these new enhancements as a translator that will allow whatever program a trucking company uses to manage its fleet to talk to our program," said Bernie Hockswender, director of sales for Rand McNally Commercial Transportation. "Before this, a company would need to use a separate program to access the information provided by our modules. These enhancements allow the company to pull our information into their systems seamlessly."
The IntelliRoute suite offers customers a base product of mileage, routing and mapping software. IntelliRoute software is available as a single-user, networked or online product and offers users the option to purchase each module separately to meet the needs of their companies.
The recently released API will allow subscribers to benefit from all the modules while still utilizing a company's existing transportation management system. Companies interested in learning more about the IntelliRoute suite should contact Bernie Hockswender at (800) 234-4069.
