Rand McNally Offers RouteTools Software For Small Fleets
Rand McNally has unveiled its new RouteTools Small Fleet Edition routing software for fleets with up to 25 trucks
Rand McNally has unveiled its new RouteTools Small Fleet Edition routing software for fleets with up to 25 trucks.
RouteTools, previously available only for larger fleets, creates customized routes that small fleets can rely on to provide quick and profitable runs.
RouteTools Small Fleet Edition builds upon the features of the previously released RouteTools Professional Driver Edition to deliver a complete routing and mapping solution designed specifically for the small fleet trucking companies. It enables small fleets to better plan routes, avoid construction delays, select routes for hazardous materials to avoid ticketing, and customize loads more effectively, according to the company.
RouteTools Small Fleet Edition's easy-to-use graphic interface allows small fleets and their drivers to:
route for hazardous materials, choosing from 10 different HazMat types;
use lowest cost routing to calculate a complete cost for each trip, including maintenance, fuel costs, and toll road costs;
avoid toll road costs;
incorporate driver break schedules;
accurately price loads using the rating calculator to determine rates by user defined load size, zone, vehicle size, materials and more; and
quickly locate nearby cities and truckstops within a certain radius.
RouteTools Small Fleet Edition also includes all of the features of the RouteTools Professional Driver Edition, such as "quickest route" and household goods ("HHG") mileages for billing purposes; optimized routing when more than two points are entered; routing for 48 or 53-foot single, double, or triple trailers; construction data updated every two weeks and downloadable from the Internet; truckstop amenities for over 5,000 locations; the ability to create customized fuel network; and cross-referenced routing to the Rand McNally 2002 Motor Carriers' Road Atlas.
RouteTools Small Fleet Edition is available for $749 through Rand McNally. For more information, call Rand McNally at (800) 234-4069.
