Rand McNally introduced IntelliRoute at the Truckload Carriers Assn. meeting last week.
IntelliRoute’s advanced routing applications combine comprehensive highway data with high-speed routing and mobile communications integration to deliver the benefits of pinpoint satellite-based tracking. IntelliRoute is a fully integrated companion product to MileMaker, Rand McNally’s mileage and routing software.
IntelliRoute users can balance the costs of specific tollroads against fuel consumption costs, maintenance costs and driving time to determine the true lowest-cost route. Dispatchers can quickly and easily customize routes for a variety of truck sizes. IntelliRoute can locate the most compliant routes for each one of the 10 different hazardous material types.
The system can position a truck within an average of 25 meters of its reported GPS position, and can interface with the leading mobile communication vendors. Regularly updated construction information via Rand McNally’s Web site allows companies to route drivers around major road construction projects.
Three versions of IntelliRoute will be available to meet the needs of all motor carriers, small or large, including those with sophisticated mobile communications networks.
