Rand McNally's transportation data management subsidiary announced a new agreement with MobileAria, a firm that provides telematics services for the automotive and fleet industries.
Under the agreement, MobileAria will integrate Rand McNally's IntelliRoute Deluxe software product into its service platform to provide support for advanced mapping and routing functions.
MobileAria, headquartered in Mountain View, Calif., provides an open and scalable service delivery platform for fleet telematics. This service platform offers fleet operators a comprehensive solution for real-time management of their overall operations, including enhanced vehicle security, improved communications and continued access to traffic and navigation information for drivers. MobileAria chose Rand McNally IntelliRoute Deluxe for its mapping and routing capabilities that enable users to improve their asset utilization while reducing costs. The software also supports real-time diagnostics and vehicle locations that are provided through the MobileAria platform.
The integrated suite of services provided by MobileAria and supported by IntelliRoute Deluxe software can be delivered via the Internet, wireless communications and handheld devices. In combination with the Delphi Communiport TruckPC hardware, the service platform improves the productivity of any small to large commercial vehicle fleet customer.
"The integration of our IntelliRoute software into MobileAria's service platform was a natural fit, providing the most accurate mapping and routing capabilities for fleet telematics," said Bob Simmons, general manager of Rand McNally's transportation data management subsidiary. "Their common-access service platform leverages the expertise of commercial transportation leaders with the best-of-breed applications developed by MobileAria and its partners. This is a terrific partnership and we look forward to the success we will share with MobileAria."
