Three new schools have joined the ranks of schools offering Professional Truck Driver Institute-certified truck driver training courses.

The schools receiving initial PTDI course certification are: Baker College of Flint, Saginaw, Mich.; Lehigh Career & Technical Institute, Berks Campus, Oley, Pa.; and Lehigh Career & Technical Institute, Upper Bucks Campus, Perkasie, Pa.
In addition to the three new schools added to the PTDI list, courses at the following twelve schools were recertified: All-State Career, Baltimore; Baker College of Flint, Owosso, Mich.; Bates Technical College, Tacoma, Wash. (two courses); Fox Valley Technical College, Appleton, Wis.; Lehigh Career & Technical Institute, Schnecksville, Pa.; Tennessee Technology Center at Dickson, Tenn.; Tennessee Technology Center at Memphis, Tenn.; Tennessee Technology Center at Morristown, Tenn.; Tennessee Technology Center at Ripley, Tenn.; Tennessee Technology Center at Nashville, Tenn.; Tennessee Technology Center at Shelbyville, Tenn.; and Western Pacific Truck School, Lakewood, Wash.
"I believe in PTDI. It's good for our program and good for our students," said George Ross, lead instructor of driver training at the Dickson, Tenn., school. As a result of the certification process, Ross said the school offers better quality education and training.
"We're a state school so we're not in it for the money, we're in it for education," Ross explained. "PTDI helped us get organized and made a better school out of us."
