Progressive Insurance announced its third annual Real Life Trucking Hero Contest to recognize unsung heroes in the transportation industry.
From now until Sept. 30, anyone can nominate a trucker for the contest. To nominate someone, submit a photo and a short essay explaining why you or someone else should be named the winner.

According to Progressive’s website, a real life trucking hero is someone who has helped a fellow trucker or weary traveler and has a good story to go along with it.
After the nomination period ends there will be a two-week voting period where nominee friends and family can vote for the top four winners. Progressive will then award cash prizes to the top three runner ups and a $5,000 grand price to the trucker who wins the title of “Real Life Trucking Hero."
First runner up recieves $2,500, second recieves $1,000 and third recieves $500.
