Profit Tools announced the release of the latest version of its business, operations, and e-commerce product line, Profit Tools for Trucking.
Profit Tools specializes in providing large-carrier technology to small- and medium-sized carriers in an easy-to-use, affordable package.
Profit Tools version 3.5 was created to address the unique rail and ocean movement requirements of intermodal businesses and to provide new automated features for LTL companies. Version 3.5 also provides more comprehensive features to all modes of trucking including upgrades to automate settlements, fuel transactions and fleet reporting and increase the ease of performing dispatching tasks such as routing and assigning loads, equipment, drivers, containers and routes.
Added features/functions include:
New intermodal features allow increased flexibility in recording/changing a shipment's hooks, drops, mounts and dismounts and corresponding equipment at any point in the dispatch process including tracking chassis splits, owned chassis and yard drops.
For less-than-truckload carriers, it offers expanded ability to automate the process of rating shipments consistently and without the need to rely on paper rate tables or someone's memory, and an expanded ability to easily segregate freight by zone and optimize all equipment and routes.
For all users, the software now can interactively generate settlements for point-to-point, shipment and move-based pay. Enhanced fuel card import handles driver/owner-operator deductions, and creates fuel-card vendor payables with line-item detail and the option of making fuel and fuel-fee deductions for owner-operators and third party drivers. Customized forms and fleet reporting are available via Microsoft Excel / Word integration.
