Power2Ship Inc., Boca Raton, Fla., announced that Jose Trujillo, a consultant with government experience and relationships, has been retained to pursue security-related government contracts and/or grants.
Power2Ship is a Web-based Collaborative Marketplace that provides supply chain, tracking and other logistics information for freight carriers, shippers and their customers.
"We have developed a solution with obvious applications in the security area, particularly related to tracking and visibility of smart containers and secure trucks. Mr. Trujillo is the ideal person to enhance the growth potential of our security division," said Power2Ship CEO Richard Hersh.
The Power2Ship release said the Homeland Security Appropriations Act for fiscal year 2005 provides $28.9 billion in net discretionary spending for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Trujillo's experience includes positions as deputy appointment secretary for President George H.W. Bush. Trujillo was an Air Force budget officer for the American embassies in Paris and Athens, a senior loan officer with the U.S. Small Business Administration and a business development officer for the Department of Commerce.
His business experience includes a number of board chairmanships. During 2003, Trujillo served on the Presidential Task Force for Small Business and received the Florida Small Businessman of the Year Award from the Republican National Congressional Committee.
