Power2Ship Inc., Boca Raton, Fla., announced that its online services will now be available through the TruckersB2B buying cooperative.

At the same time, Power2Ship is offering new carrier members a free handheld computer equipped with GPS. Power2Ship is an online service that brings shippers together with carriers and individual drivers and enables business transactions.
TruckersB2B at www.truckersb2b.com is an established, Indianapolis-based buying cooperative for fleets and owner-operators with membership representing 435,000 trucks. Power2Ship, also known as P2S, will offer its new Quick Start program to TruckersB2B members. Quick Start provides member access to P2S’ MobileMarket, which offers truckload capacity to member shippers.
The P2S MobileMarket identifies current locations of drivers with tractors and trailers and their destinations. The systems determines when and where capacity will be available within the next few days and provides that information to shippers in seconds.
Truck and trailer status can be provided to P2S in three ways.

-- Carriers enter the information directly on the P2S MobileMarket web site.
-- Carriers with tracking systems may transmit initial and updated information.
-- Carriers can acquire and install locator devices from P2S.

Carrier members can store and P2S can instantly provide information for shippers. Besides available capacity, that information can include descriptions of carrier facilities; driver names, qualifications, work schedule, licenses and permits; tractor and trailer descriptions, transportation lanes and rates.
