Despite a slowing economy, web-based transportation services provider pFreight.com has reported significant growth in sales.

A venture of Ryder Systems and web load-matching pioneer Scott Moscripp, pFreight offers a menu of web-based services to owner-operators and small fleets. Moscripp founded the first web-based matching service, Internet Truckstop, in 1995.
According to pFreight’s announcement, the upturn followed the introduction earlier this year of a major-brand fuel card program with discounts at nearly 1,000 locations and an average discount savings of 3.5 cents per gallon off cash price.
Kim Fricke, pFreight vice president for sales and marketing, said that 80 percent those who inquired by phone have purchased the service recently.
Fricke said pFreight’s fuel card program is open to any small carrier and requires no bond, credit check, or large up front deposit.
