Making its debut at the Mid-America Trucking Show, Peterbilt Motor Co. displayed two of its new Model 379Xs in its exhibit,
showcasing the new vehicle’s polished aluminum fenders, oval-pattern grille, polished aluminum centerline hood accent and brushed aluminum dash and sleeper trim.
"The Model 379X embodies the owner-operator spirit of independence, freedom and individuality," said Nick Panza, general manager and Paccar vice president.
Unique styling and exclusive design elements both inside and out are hallmarks of Peterbilt’s new special edition Model 379X. Its polished aluminum-on-chrome special edition themes are incorporated into every detail of the truck, from the special edition logos on the sleeper sides to the X-spoke design of the steering wheel.
Dan Sobic, Peterbilt assistant general manager, said Peterbilt customers and trucking enthusiasts will "connect" with the Model 379X.
"Driving down the road, sitting in the custom leather seats, looking down the polished aluminum centerline hood trim, glancing at the gauges set in the brushed aluminum dash panels, pulling back on the chromed shift lever and knob -- the Model 379X constantly reinforces the fact that you are a Peterbilt owner who sits behind the wheel of a truly special truck."
The Model 379X exterior is equipped with exclusive design accents and chrome exterior accessories, including:
-- Unique, polished aluminum fenders
-- Polished aluminum centerline hood trim
-- Coordinating, punched "Peterbilt oval" grille and air cleaner intake screen
-- Polished aluminum grille bars
-- Seven-inch chromed exhaust stacks
-- LED auxiliary lighting for the cab, sleeper, air cleaner and rear light-bar assembly
-- Chromed Texas-style bumper
-- Extended stainless steel sunvisor
--Model 379X special edition logos on each side of the sleeper
Model 379X interior features include:

"The Model 379X has show truck-winning elements, inside and out," says Sobic. "Its unique features and special-edition status will only enhance the already industry-leading resale value of the Model 379."
