Peterbilt Motors Co. announced that detailed truck schematics and parts lists are now available on the Internet with Peterbilt's TruckCare Web ECAT – short for electronic catalog.

"The popular TruckCare ECAT is now available via the World Wide Web, replacing the CD-ROM version, and making access to this valuable resource more convenient for our customers," said Bruce Ewald, Peterbilt assistant general manager. "Web ECAT provides subscribers with chassis specific information for every truck in their fleet, helping expedite ordering the right parts and facilitating service and repair."
Web ECAT cross references a truck's original chassis record with the Paccar parts catalog. Users can search and identify parts by keyword, part number and interactive visual diagrams.
"With the visual search function, you can simply point and click on areas of the vehicle to access exploded views of assemblies with greater and greater detail, down to individual parts and components," Ewald said.
Wiring and air piping diagrams are included, as are alternate part selections if the part the vehicle was originally spec'd with is no longer produced.
The system has information for all Peterbilt trucks built since 1978.
Annual subscriptions to Web ECAT are available through Peterbilt dealerships. Use of Web ECAT is customer based, not chassis based, so a single subscription provides unlimited users within a single company access to data for all of the Peterbilt units that company owns.
