Peterbilt has introduced its new UltraLow Roof Day Cab & Model 589 UltraLow Roof 58-Inch Sleeper for long-haul car-carrier applications.

Peterbilt has announced the introduction of two new vehicle configurations for the car carrier market. Its new Model 567 UltraLow Roof Day Cab and the Model 589 UltraLow Roof 58-inch Sleeper vehicle configurations were developed in collaboration with leading car carrier fleets, the OEM said. According to Peterbilt, the new models set new benchmarks in low-profile design, lightweight solutions, safety features, visibility and driver comfort for car-carriers.

A Lightweight Design

Peterbilt said the Model 567 UltraLow Roof Day Cab is designed with the industry's lowest factory roof height of 95-inches, this model eliminates the need for aftermarket modifications, to helo fleets in terms of design and efficiency.

The new UltraLow Roof 58-inch sleeper for the Model 589 is a more upscale option. It is designed to offer fleets and drivers a stylish and comfortable option truck combined with a with a 100-inch roof height and a wide, spacious 2.1m cab. Peterbilt said model is tailored to meet the demands of long-haul journeys, combining comfort with the low-profile design that car carriers prioritize.

“The introduction of these two new configurations for car carrier applications is another example of how Peterbilt designs and manufactures products that provide Individualized Solutions for the unique needs of our customers,” said Scott Newhouse, Peterbilt chief engineer.

Both new configurations are built upon Peterbilt’s lightweight aluminum cab for maximizing load capacity, durability and performance. The large windshield and side view mirrors provide excellent visibility. The interiors are designed for driver comfort, offering customizable dash panels, deep cup holders, multiple power ports and best-in-class storage options for personal items. A suite of active safety systems includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking and other features like grab handles for easy ingress/egress.
