Revenue increased by more than 30 percent in 2006 as a result, Konezny said.
PeopleNet experienced growth in multiple trucking segments, reflecting the diversity of use for the highly configurable and capable g3 system. About 50 percent of new business came from for-hire fleets, and 50 percent from private fleets. New fleets were distributed across dry van, tanker, refrigerated, flatbed, dedicated, LTL and specialty carriers. Nearly a third of new units signed converted from older, first generation onboard computing or mobile communications systems.
PacTrac, the PeopleNet and PacLease joint solution offering, also attracted solid market interest, adding more than 30 new customers to the base.
During the year, PeopleNet announced a number of technology enhancements and business advances, including the launch of the g3 Services Application, which enables customers and business partners to access PeopleNet onboard resources through a standard serial or USB port. That opens the PeopleNet system to integration with virtually any 3rd party solution - a particular benefit for specialized fleets.
PeopleNet also announced the development to update its eDriver Logs application to deal with complex new hours of service rules in Canada, and premiered a number of technology upgrades.
