PeopleNet Communications Corp. and TMTsoftware announced they are integrating their products to bring efficiencies to fleet maintenance operations
through automated data collection and tracking of maintenance information.
The initiative combines PeopleNet’s wireless delivery of real-time engine data through PerformX with the maintenance tracking capabilities of TMTsoftware’s Transman fleet management software.
“The integration aligns closely with the needs of our customers who have asked for more streamlined maintenance operations,” says Ron Konezny, chief operating officer for PeopleNet.
“Just one piece of data, odometer readings for example, delivered from the road can lead to considerable efficiency in scheduling preventive maintenance. Our vision for this integration is to provide fleets with real-time maintenance updates.”
Rick Rosenberg, president of TMTsoftware said, “the integration strategy with PeopleNet emphasizes our development model to simplify and assure accurate data collection and flow. This integration emphasizes our commitment to facilitate not only the most effective informed decisions but also the most efficient work flow both of which yield significant bottom line results.”
PeopleNet provides GPS-based location tracking, two-way voice and data communications, and Internet-based fleet tools for communication between business owners, dispatchers, drivers and shippers.
TMTsoftware’s Transman is a maintenance management software solution that includes purchasing, invoicing, warranty, shop planning and human resources. Transman is available for Windows, iSeries, and Internet environments.
