“Penske proudly hires and employs veterans and active National Guard and Reserve members to work in our operations,” said Jennifer Sockel, Penske’s senior vice president of HR. “We appreciate their service to our country and the values, work ethic and skills they bring to our teams.”
Criteria for making the list was based on key programs and policies a company has to recruit military members. It also takes into account the amount of new hires with prior service, retention programs and policies on National Guard and Reserve members.
Thousands of companies were sent a survey with the results being tested independently by Ernst & Young LLP based on weightings and methodology established by Victory Media.
In 2014, 13% of Penske’s new hires were veterans with most being placed in the areas of truck maintenance technicians and supervisors, truck drivers, and logistics operations roles.
