Four days of Truckerfest 2000 kick off tonight in Reno-Sparks, Nev., with the "Parade of Pride" through downtown Reno.
All truckers are welcome, whether they're competing in the truck beauty contest or not. Be at the Alamo by 5 p.m. if you want to participate.
At last year's event, nearly 100 trucks paraded through downtown Reno. The 45-minute parade included both show trucks that were competing in the truck beauty show held during Truckerfest as well as everyday working trucks.
Truckerfest 2000, sponsored by Newport Communications and The Alamo Travel Center, will feature the first truck beauty show in the new Stars & Stripes truck beauty show series, sponsored by Freightliner and Chevron, as well as exhibits, fireworks, a free concert for truckers, trucker games, free steaks and more. It runs through Sunday at 1 p.m. For more information, visit www.truckerfest.com.
