Paccar Leasing Co. (PacLease) has announced the immediate availability of PacTrac, a telematics system that reduces customer operating costs, improves productivity and enhances service in private fleet logistics.
“PacLease is one of the leading commercial truck leasing companies in North America and our customers increasingly demand real-time information to efficiently run their businesses,” said Bob Southern, PacLease president. "PacTrac cost-effectively delivers logistics information to the desktops of fleet managers through a user-friendly interface."
The PacTrac telematics solution utilizes GPS technology, a reliable network of more than 100 wireless carriers, and an Internet connection to deliver real-time data from customers’ vehicles. Modular hardware includes the PacTrac onboard computer, keyboard and handset to deliver several key benefits:
• Real-time GPS vehicle position reports help maximize supply chain efficiency to meet changing customer demands.
• Management reports monitor driver and vehicle efficiency using important performance metrics.
• Paperless data collection cuts administrative time by automating driver hours of service logs and automatically populating tax, payroll and compliance reports.
• Data and voice communication provides a direct link between drivers, dispatchers and customers.
• Exception-based arrival and departure reporting tightens security and provides automated notification when trucks move within allowable geographic boundaries.
